I’m Huh Kyung-ok, the head of the finance team. I am in charge of financial planning and providing internal and external financial information. Due to the nature of financial work, accuracy and perfection are needed, so conservative judgment and coolness are needed when working, so sometimes employees are strict. Q. What kind of career did you have at NEOVALUE?
I joined the company in 2009 and was in charge of overall management such as finance, accounting, tax, and personnel in the management and finance team. Since then, as the company has grown, it has been divided into a finance team and a people team, and I am working as a leader of the finance team.
Q. What made you join NEOVALUE?
I have a financial career with a general company and an accounting firm. I applied for NEOVALUE because I wanted to try a new field of work, and I’ve been with you for more than 10 years. With a small number of people, we worked together to realize ‘first’ and ‘new’. Looking back, I think that NEOVALUE and I have grown together.

Q. Please introduce what the team does.
We make results of the company’s management activities, disclose them to the public, and share them internally. It can be largely divided into financial accounting, management accounting, and tax accounting tasks.
Q. What is your job?
We are responsible for establishing the company’s annual financial plan and managing the efficient operation of the funds. In addition, I am in charge of the team leader position, so I am checking the overall work of the team and making decisions.
Q. What are the pros and cons of working as a lifestyle developer?
It’s a job that gathers all the numbers of the company, so you can immediately check the soundness of your management activities. It’s worthwhile to identify predictable issues and block them in advance to reduce risk. On the other hand, it is often necessary to check the changing system and issues from time to time, so constant learning is required.
Q. What major/competencies do you need for work?
Basically, you have to be good at numbers. Due to the nature of work, people who have not studied related departments have somewhat unfamiliar work terms, so they prefer to major in business administration/management. In addition to basic professional skills, sincerity, meticulousness, logical thinking, and smooth interpersonal skills are needed. In particular, because it provides information both inside and outside the house based on numbers, meticulousness that does not make a single mistake is the most important.
Q. How can I have that capability?
I think you need confidence and expertise in your work to express your opinion confidently to the other person. To do that, you need to learn. In practice, you use a lot of Excel functions, so it’s good to have skills that you can use well
Rather than avoiding when given, I think that challenges broaden your horizons and improve your problem-solving skills. I think it’d be nice if you had a positive mindset that you wouldn’t be afraid of challenges and could pull off the process well
Q. What kind of colleague do you want to work with?
I want to work with a colleague who has clear communication. Since you can’t work alone, it’s important to communicate with who you work with. In my experience, unclear communication often lengthened time or went in different directions. I prefer colleagues who have a clear attitude of communication for better collaboration, execution, and results.

Q. Please introduce your daily routine at NEOVALUE.
I go to work and organize today’s work with a cup of coffee. After that, I check the mail and pay for the documents related to the expenditure of funds from each team.
I tend to concentrate well in the morning, so in the morning, I work on tasks that require important decisions and report. Unexpected tasks often occur in the afternoon, so we deal with related tasks. Before I leave work, I check the tasks I did that day again and finish it.
Q. What kind of lifestyle do you have?
I have an eco-friendly lifestyle that protects the environment with small practices in my life. We are using environmentally friendly products to minimize waste emitted from our daily lives by reducing plastic usage such as disposable products and refraining from delivery and delivery as much as possible. I’m consciously trying to make my small actions become a habit.

Q. What do you think a sustainable city is like?
It is an eco-friendly city with minimal environmental impact. It’s called ESG. Consideration of non-financial factors such as environment, society, and governance that affect corporate value and sustainability from a long-term perspective is being strengthened, rather than judging only the financial performance of a company from a management perspective. When a city is formed based on environmentally friendly values, I think sustainable life continues.
